Which best describes your point of view?

Society if not strictly controlled (by a govt), people would fight, rob and oppress each other -life in the "state of nature" (without laws or other control) would be "solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short"

Society is basically good, moral and reasonable. Government is to protect their natural rights - The best govt. are ones that have limited power and accepted by all citizens.
